VIN Inspections

 

VIN Inspections are conducted on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm in the South parking lot at the Sheriff's Office. VINs can be inspected at any other time if a Deputy is available.

The following items are required for Inspection:

• Out-of-State Title
• Vehicle
• $20 (Our office will accept cash, check, or money order.)
• Identification

Our agency will NOT do a VIN Inspection on a salvaged or rebuilt title. Those titles must be inspected by the Kansas Highway Patrol on Mondays from 12 pm until 2 pm in the south parking lot of the Courthouse located at 204 S. National Ave, Fort Scott. The fee is $25.

Vehicles with a Certificate of Origin DO NOT require an inspection.
